Jiye Fang is currently an Associate Professor of Chemistry and Director of Materials Science Program/Track at State University of New York at Binghamton. He received his B.Sc. in Chemistry from Lanzhou University in 1984, and his M.Sc. in Chemistry and Ph.D. in Materials Science from National University of Singapore in 1994 and 1998, respectively. In 2002, he became an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at University of New Orleans. He received an NSF Career award in 2005. In 2006, he was promoted to Associate Professor of Chemistry. His research centers on the design and synthesis of size- and shape-controlled nanocrystals as well as energy-related applications.
