
Taeghwan Hyeon received his B. S. (1987) and M. S. (1989) in Chemistry from the Seoul National University (SNU), Korea. He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the UIUC (1996). Since he joined Chem.&Biol Engineering of SNU in 1997, he has been focused on uniform-sized nanocrystals and nanoporous materials, and he published more than 160 papers in prominent international journals. He has been a Director of Creative Research Center for Oxide Nanocrystalline Materials. In 2010 he was appointed as the first “SNU Distinguished Fellow” (University Professor). He received many awards including Korean Young Scientist Award (2002), DuPont Sci.&Tech. Award (2005), and POSCO-T. J. Park Award (2008). Since September 2010, he has served as an Associate Editor of JACS. He is currently serving as editorial (advisory) board member of Adv. Mater., Chem. Mater., Nanoscale, Nano Today, and Small.
